Brent Addington, MD Brent Addington, MD
Dr. Addington has been with Stern Cardiovascular for several years. Before joining the staff, Dr. Addington was former Associated Director of the Baptist Memorial Hospital Catheterization Lab with Dr. Frank Kroetz, previously associated in private cardiology practice with Drs. Nathan Salky and Ray M. Allen, Jr.; in private cardiology practice with Cardiology Specialists of Memphis, P.C., with Drs. Ray M. Allen, Jr., Janice L. Garrison, Eric R. Guerra, and David H. Iansmith.

 

Ray M. Allen, Jr MD Ray M. Allen, Jr MD
Dr. Allen's interests include general cardiology, coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. Dr. Allen performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization. In addition to his profession, Dr. Allen is active in The Nature Conservancy, Boy Scouts of America, and Idlewild Presbyterian Church. Dr. Allen and his wife have three children.

 

Tamunoinemi Bob-Manuel, MD Tamunoinemi Bob-Manuel, MD
Dr. Bob-Manuel returned to Memphis in 2022 and joined Stern Cardiovascular Group as an Interventional Cardiologist and Peripheral arterial and venous specialist. His clinical interests include Interventions for peripheral artery disease, chronic limb ischemia (CLI) to assist wound healing, varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis. He is also passionate about image and physiology guided coronary interventions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and is active in clinical research.

Mark E. Campbell, MD Mark E. Campbell, MD
Dr. Mark Campbell was born in Batesville, Mississippi, and spent his childhood in Grenada, Mississippi. Dr. Campbell was the Chief of Cardiology at Keesler Medical Center and the director for the United States Air Force Cardiology Fellowship Program.

 

 

Shankho Ganguli, MD Shankho Ganguli, MD
Dr. Ganguli is a third-generation physician who has grown up in Memphis and is excited to return home to serve his community. After completing medical school at UT Memphis, he did his residency and fellowships in the Midwest and the East Coast. He is passionate about valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. Having lived and trained in different parts of the country, he appreciates the unique need of each patient and the importance of tailoring therapy according to the individual. He enjoys the immediate relief patients experience from successful procedures as much as he enjoys building long term relationships with them and their families.

 

Jay Gardner, MD Jay Gardner, MD
Dr. Gardner is a native Memphian who joined Stern Cardiovascular in August 2014. His interests include general and interventional cardiology including peripheral arterial and peripheral venous disease

 

 

James E. Klemis, MD James E. Klemis, MD
Dr. Klemis has a widespread background in internal medicine and cardiology. He pursued additional training in vascular medicine and learned innovative, less invasive treatments for vascular disease at the prestigious Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute of New York, one of the busiest centers in the world for vascular disease and the leading center for carotid artery stenting in the US. He worked alongside pioneers in the field of vascular intervention and became the first Mid-South physician to become board certified in both vascular medicine and endovascular intervention, as recognized by the American Board of Vascular Medicine.

 

Justin May, MD Justin May, MD
Dr. May practices consultative and interventional cardiology. He performs cardiac catheterizations with percutaneous coronary intervention, management of peripheral arterial disease, and interpretation of cardiac diagnostic imaging. Dr. May and his wife, Jennifer, relocated from southeast Michigan.

 

Basil M. Paulus, MD Basil M. Paulus, MD
Dr. Paulus is interested in structural heart disease, interventional cardiology (including such procedures as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placement), peripheral vascular disease, consultative cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. Dr. Paulus performed the first successful percutaneous aortic valve replacement and the first successful percutaneous mitral valve repair in the Memphis area. These are minimally invasive procedures to repair heart valves. Dr. Paulus previously worked at the Borgess Heart Institute. He is the former Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Francis Hospital, former Chairman of the Division of Cardiology at St. Francis Hospital, and is the Medical Director of the Baptist Valve Clinic. In addition, he is an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the site director at Baptist Memphis Hospital for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Cardiology Fellowship.

Joseph K. Samaha, MD Joseph K. Samaha, MD
Dr. Samaha has been involved in the medical community in Memphis for several years. He served as the Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Other hospital appointments have included Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Desoto County (Southaven, Mississippi), and Methodist Hospital Germantown in Germantown, Tennessee. Before joining Stern Cardiovascular, Dr. Samaha was a cardiologist with The Cardiology Group of Memphis and with Memphis Heart Clinic.

Darrell Sneed, MD Darrell Sneed, MD
Dr. Sneed has been with Stern Cardiovascular for several years. His areas of focus include cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology including peripheral vascular disease.

 

 

Larry B. Spiotta, MD Larry B. Spiotta, MD
Dr. Spiotta has been a practicing cardiologist in Memphis for years and comes from a family of doctors – both his father and brother are doctors in Memphis. Dr. Spiotta took the opportunity to join Stern Cardiovascular because his interests had evolved into specializing further into the treatment of vascular disorders and treating vascular disease. These are patients who have either blockages in their coronary arteries or in arteries to their legs or kidneys or even their arms. Treating these disorders has given Dr. Spiotta great satisfaction as it is gratifying to see the benefit gained when therapeutic maneuvers give these patients the ability to resume an active healthy lifestyle.

Mark H. Strong, MD Mark H. Strong, MD
Dr. Strong is from Brookhaven, Mississippi, and now resides in Taylor, Mississippi.

 

 

 

David Wolford, MD David Wolford, MD
Dr. Wolford was the first interventional cardiologist trained at University of Tennessee. He is interested in procedures within interventional cardiology including cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placement.

 

 

Haris Zafarullah, MD Haris Zafarullah, MD
Dr. Zafarullah moved to Memphis in 2003 to start his training at University of Tennessee. He has been practicing in Memphis since 2012. He specializes in consultative and interventional cardiology with special interest in complex coronary and peripheral vascular disease.

 

 

Gilbert J. Zoghbi, MD Gilbert J. Zoghbi, MD
Dr. Zoghbi has several professional interests including general cardiology, interventional cardiology (complex coronary interventions, peripheral vascular and carotid interventions, percutaneous PFO/ASD closure, and aortic valvuloplasty), nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. In the academic field, Dr. Zoghbi has extensive experience including Director, Cardiac Care Unit, Birmingham VA Medical Center; Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Birmingham VA Medical Center; Director, interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Scientist, Center for Cardiovascular Biology, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Director, Chest Pain Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
