Dr. Ahmadian is a native Memphian who joined Stern Cardiovascular in July 2019. He was an Air Force Cardiologist serving in San Antonio, Texas from 2014-2019. His clinical interests include General Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging.
Louis Caruso, MD
Dr. Caruso practices consultative cardiology. Dr. Caruso performs cardiac catheterizations and interpretation of cardiac diagnostic imaging. He also has interest in venous disease and endovenous radiofrequency ablation of venous reflux disease.
Vinh Q. Duong, MD
Dr. Duong immigrated to the United States from Vietnam at the age of five, went on to receive his medical education at University of Missouri, continued his medical training at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and joined Stern Cardiovascular Foundation with his primary practice in northwest Mississippi. His interests include general cardiovascular care as well as coronary and peripheral interventional cardiology. He is keen to serve the local community in the Mid-South area and provide the best cardiovascular care for his patients. He hopes to not only treat heart disease but educate his patients about healthy heart habits while fostering life-long relationships with them.
Steven S. Gubin, MD
Dr. Gubin is a cardiologist and president of Stern Cardiovascular. He focuses on preventative cardiology, promoting proactive patient education to reduce risk factors. He is interested in consultative cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
Jason Infeld, MD
Dr. Infeld specializes in Clinical Cardiology imaging of the heart, congestive heart failure, and congenital heart disease. He is interested in consultative cardiology and transesophageal echocardiography. Dr. Infeld received advanced training in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and congenital heart defects.
David H. Kraus, MD
Dr. Kraus has part of the medical community in Memphis for several years. While in the Cardiology Department at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Dr. Kraus served as Associate Director, Cardiac Laboratories and Director, Echocardiography Laboratory. He worked at Dr. David H. Kraus, M.D. before joining Salky, Kraus and Addington, The Cardiology Group of Memphis, PC, and Memphis Heart Group. At Memphis Heart Clinic, Dr. Kraus served as Director of Cardiology Clinical Research Program and as Director of Outpatient Heart Failure Clinic before Stern Cardiovascular.
Amit Malhotra, MD
Before joining Stern Cardiovascular, Dr. Malhotra served as a staff physician at several area hospitals including Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN; Methodist Germantown Hospital, Germantown, TN: Baptist Memorial Hospital, Desoto County, MS. Dr. Malhotra's academic appointments included Attending Physician and Asst. to Program Director at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL; Clinical Instructor in Medicine, Rush Medical College, Chicago, IL; Chief Medical Resident, Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL.
Frank A. McGrew, III MD
Dr. Frank McGrew is the Director of Clinical Research at Stern Cardiovascular. He first came to Stern Cardiovascular many years ago because Dr. Tom Stern, the late founder, convinced him that this was the place that he needed to be to achieve the goals that he set for himself. Dr. McGrew knew that he wanted to be involved with patient care in an atmosphere that was comprehensive and compassionate. Dr. Stern convinced Dr. McGrew that he would be able to continue following his love for cardiovascular research and provide patients new opportunities, treatment and procedures, not previously available. Dr. McGrew said that one of the great pleasures of working at Stern Cardiovascular is that they provide high quality care.
Jennifer S. Morrow, MD
Dr. Morrow is interested in consultative cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. Her primary area of focus is heart disease in women.
Daniel Otten, MD
Dr. Otten offers great flexibility and accommodation for telemedicine, especially during this pandemic. Named "Top Doctor" 2015-2020 in Memphis Magazine, Dr. Otten focuses on cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology. His education took him to a variety of communities, from Princeton University to Rockefeller University, to Vanderbilt and to Indiana University as well as to Columbia University Medical Center.
Dharmesh S. Patel, MD
Dr. Patel has been in medicine for several years. Among his various leadership positions, Dr. Patel has been Chairman of Medicine at Baptist Desoto Hospital, Southaven, Mississippi. He has also been the Quality Assurance Physician there for several years. He serves on the Southeast Board of the National Lipid Association for America and the Greater Southeast American Heart Association Board of Directors.
Holger P. Salazar, MD
Dr. Salazar initially began his involvement with cardiology while teaching medical residents and fellows at Tulane University. He loved teaching and has continued to educate through his patients. Dr. Salazar believes that it is important for a patient to learn how to embrace a healthy lifestyle and, if needed, he recommends the kind of changes that might be needed. Dr. Salazar values family as an integral part of one’s health. Living a healthy lifestyle is a family experience that can help a patient prevent problems related to the heart.
Allison Spangler, MD
Dr. Spangler joined Stern Cardiovascular in October of 2021 after recently completing her cardiovascular training. She is a native Alabamian but received most of her medical training in Mississippi and possesses a passion for treating patients in this area of the South. She completed a cardiac imaging fellowship at Houston Methodist DeBakey in Houston, TX and achieved level 3 training in advanced echocardiography and advanced cardiac CT. Her other clinical interests include valvular heart disease, preventative and obesity medicine.
Dr. Swe-Siegel is originally from Burma (Myanmar) and she grew up in Orange County, California, where she attended college. She went to St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies for medical school. She completed her residency and fellowship trainings in Jackson, Mississippi. Stern Cardiovascular is the first group that Dr. Swe-Siegel joined after her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. Her interests within cardiovascular disease are consultative cardiology, cardiovascular diseases in women, performing transesophageal echocardiogram for structural heart diseases and procedures, interpreting transthoracic echocardiogram and different types of stress testing.
Dr. Szatkowski (folks call him Dr. Arie) is the Medical Director of the Baptist-Stern Joint Venture that oversees the cardiovascular services for the Metro Baptist Hospital System. He is also acting President of the Medical Staff at Baptist Desoto Hospital and Director of Cardiovascular Services and Echocardiography lab at Baptist Desoto Hospital, voted number one cardiac hospital in Mississippi. He is also the Director of Quality for The Stern Cardiovascular Foundation. Through these roles he has facilitated the direction of cardiac care to focus on patient experience, quality, better value and better outcomes.
Neeraja Yedlapati, MD
Dr. Neeraja Yedlapati recently joined Stern Cardiovascular Group in 2022. She is an Associate Professor and previously served as a Noninvasive Imaging Chief with her expertise in Echocardiography, Nuclear cardiac imaging, Cardiovascular Computed tomography and Cardiac Magnetic resonance imaging. Her interests include clinical cardiology, multimodality cardiac imaging, athletic heart syndrome and women’s heart diseases. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts. Along with her interest in Clinical cardiology, she is an experienced Cardiac Imager for NBA athletes and serves as a rising representative of American Society of Echocardiography, Foundation Committee.
