Monthly CME Opportunities
Baptist Grand Rounds
This one-hour CME series will feature specialists presenting a variety of topics in their specialty areas. This will be a great chance for members of the medical staff to meet new physicians and foster collegial relationships among all physicians. All members of Baptist's medical staff and nurse practitioners are welcome to attend. Heavy appetizers are provided. Meets at The Manship, with appetizers served from 5:30 p.m to 6:00 p.m., with the presentation lasting from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. RSVP to Terri.McCarver@bmhcc.org or 601-209-7157. Addiction Medicine Residency Program
Part of Baptist’s Center of Excellence in Addiction Medicine, a collaboration between Baptist Memorial Health Care and Integrated Addiction Care (IAC), our Addiction Medicine Residency places a parallel focus on the physical, mental and social determinants of addiction. The goal of this program is to draw patients into treatment, and then to transition them to durable recovery. Rotations include outpatient chemical dependence, inpatient chemical dependency, emergency department call, detoxification, mental health (inpatient and outpatient), rural medicine & addiction, and methadone treatment.

Family Medicine Residency Program
The Family Medicine Residency Program is co-sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis and the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee. We emphasize our responsibility to our community to assist the less fortunate among us by offering each individual innovative care following best practice models to achieve and maintain the highest standards. General Surgery Residency Program
The General Surgery Residency Program is committed to training highly qualified general surgeons. It provides comprehensive surgical training across all aspects of surgical patient care. Residents will have clinical experiences in advanced tertiary referral hospitals, large community-based hospitals, and small-town clinical practice in an effort to foster an interest in comprehensive general surgery.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is designed to provide each resident a comprehensive curriculum in the OB-GYN specialty with active learning, hands-on experience and experienced mentorship, along with the opportunity for concentrated training in areas of interest. This residency emphasizes the importance of team building and collaboration, both within the program as well as with other healthcare professionals.

Pharmacy Residency Program
The Pharmacy Residency Program offers residents the opportunity to provide a wide range of advanced clinical services, including patient-specific pharmacotherapy, clinical consultation (including pharmacokinetics), and provision of drug information to patients and health care professionals. The program provides structured opportunities for independent learning through various clinical rotations.
Physician Wellness Program
The Baptist Physician Wellness Program seeks to help doctors facing real-life challenges with burnout, depression, substance abuse, addiction and other harmful behaviors. Our Physician Wellness Committee serves as a confidential resource for doctors in need.
Radiology Residency Program
The Radiology Residency Program offers an exciting environment for progressive post-graduate radiology training in a program in an integrated system of hospitals and ancillary patient-care settings. The program provides structured opportunities for independent learning through various clinical rotations.
Graduate Level Nursing Preceptorship
Graduate level nurses who are interested in obtaining either a clinical or non-clinical preceptorship at Baptist should apply online no later than three months prior to the proposed affiliation date. Participation is based on the availability of the preceptor, clinical/non-clinical site, and final approval by Baptist administration.
Please have the following pieces of information ready when completing the application:
- RN license number/state
- APN license number/state
- Full legal name, email address, practice address, and phone number for all preceptors
- Number of clinical rotations
- Full legal name, email address, school name, office address and phone number for your school's faculty advisor

Allied Health Professional (AHP) Screening Center
Our AHP screening process serves non-employee AHPs working under a licensed independent practitioner (LIP) agreement to provide patient care, treatment or services at a Baptist facility, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, surgical technicians and others. (This scope does not apply to advanced-practice AHPs, as those professionals are credentialed through the Baptist medical staff office.) To comply with Joint Commission (JC) accreditation standards, Baptist has dedicated AHP screening specialists to assist AHPs through the formalized screening process.
