Why did you choose pharmacy as a career?
I decided to attend pharmacy school after attending pharmacy camp at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. At pharmacy camp, we had the opportunity to listen to professors, compound various items and visit their nuclear pharmacy. That is when I knew I wanted to be a pharmacist.
Why did you choose Baptist?
I chose Baptist because when I visited this campus, I felt welcomed and encouraged. After one visit I knew this was a place where I could learn and become a better pharmacist. Another reason I chose Baptist is because there are several opportunities for growth, both professionally and personally.
Why would you recommend Baptist to a prospective applicant?
I recommend Baptist because of the positive work environment. As we transition from student to pharmacist there are several challenges, and the staff here encourages open communication. They are respectful and supportive.

What is your day like?
A typical day for me so far during residency consists of strengthening my pharmacy foundation and continuing to learn new things. The most rewarding part has been seeing myself grow in confidence as a pharmacist and health care provider, while also seeing my knowledge expand.
Why would you recommend Baptist to a prospective applicant?
Baptist truly is an inclusive workplace. From the beginning of my interview through orientation and beyond, I felt welcomed and that I belonged as a member of the team here. All team members, from program directors to mentors and fellow co-workers and even other health care professionals, are all so excited to have pharmacy residents a part of the team. They also all play a big role in making my transition from student to pharmacist go that much smoother. While there are still many challenges and some hard days, I know I have team members that will be there to help me when I need it. I can’t imagine being in a residency anywhere else.
