Mobile Mammography
Through Baptist Women’s Health Center's mobile mammography unit, we can connect women to accessible breast care, education and resources.
Did you know?
- Memphis ranks high in breast cancer death rates for African-American women.
- Annual screenings can lead to early detection of breast cancer.
- Every two minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer.
Providing Convenience
Early detection of breast cancer is key to survival. Having mobile access to vital screening mammograms makes it easier for you to keep your annual screening a priority.
Let us bring education and screenings to you. We are proud to partner with physician offices, community health centers, nonprofit organizations, assisted living/retirement facilities, grocery stores, colleges, churches and others to provide convenient locations for our mobile mammography program.
Businesses can schedule the mobile unit to come to the workplace to provide screening mammograms for their employees. Employees can receive a quick 2D/3D digital breast screening without having to leave work. This service benefits both employers and employees by decreasing time off for appointments. There is no cost to your organization to bring the unit to your site.
Providing Access
Access to care shouldn’t be limited by your ability to pay. Through the support of generous community partners, like Susan G. Komen Memphis-Midsouth Mississippi, the Breast Cancer Eradication Initiative, and countless others, grants may be available for breast services for uninsured and underinsured women. These grants may be available for some counties in West Tennessee and the state of Mississippi. Grant assistance is available based on financial need. Please contact us for additional information or to apply for grant assistance.
Mammography is covered by most insurance plans, including TennCare, and Medicare. Through an application process, grants are available for those without insurance and those who are underinsured.
