Clinical Pharmacist Opportunities

At Baptist, clinical pharmacists are a vital part of the patient care team and provide support, coordination and input for patients’ medication needs. In collaboration with our in-house pharmacists and our elite team of registered nurses, our clinical pharmacists help ensure patients’ receive the right medications safely and effectively.
Some of the tasks performed by our clinical pharmacists include
- Managing medication orders, such as age-specific considerations to ensure medication safety (e.g., processing, preparation and dispensing of medicines)
- Participating in pharmacotherapeutic plan processes
- Effectively managing pharmacy practice
- Processing and preparing sterile products for dispensing
- Completing and contributing to goals, programs and report cards for unit/department/hospital
- Providing medication information and education
- Participating actively on inter- and intradepartmental committees
- Maximizing safety and efficiency through appropriate use of automation
Qualifications
Education
- LPN training and license required
- Basic computer literacy skills
License/Professional Certification
- Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy license for appropriate state or eligibility for licensure (Must acquire license within 90 days of hire date)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, advanced post-graduate training or equivalent clinical experience
Experience
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred (but not required)
