Baptist employees give to disaster relief fund to support communities affected by winter tornadoes

UNION CITY, Tenn. –Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation made a donation of $11,632 on behalf of Baptist Memorial Health Care and its employees to the American Red Cross of Mid-South Tennessee.

Baptist Foundation matched the $5,816 raised by Baptist’s employees to assist those affected by tornados in Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky in December.

“Baptist’s team members have a strong connection to the communities we serve,” said Jenny Prascher Nevels, executive director of Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation. “Their desire to help those affected by natural disasters is a reflection of that connection and their commitment to the community. Supporting patients and the communities we serve is what our mission is all about.”

Baptist has a long history of raising money to support charitable initiatives that align with the organization’s mission, including providing COVID-19 relief, health care for the homeless, free grief services and emergency assistance for patients and employees.

Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation supports the healing, preaching and teaching mission of Baptist Memorial Health Care, a 22-hospital system with locations in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.
