Dear Colleagues,
Please see below for the latest updates regarding COVID-19 for the Baptist system.
- Cases in region
- Changes to PPE Process:
- No changes in our current process
- Screening:
- We are screening every Baptist employee and visitor prior to entering each facility
- Testing:
- Testing is now available through commercial labs including AEL, QUEST, LabCorp
- Work is ongoing to setup drive-through and at-home testing in many areas
- Current testing recommendations
- Test individuals with Temperature of 100.4 with Influenza-Like-Illness (ILI)
- Symptomatic individuals with exposure to or suspected exposure to someone with COVID-19
- Symptomatic individuals with travel to a CDC Level 3 area (Europe, UK, Ireland, China, South Korea, Iran)
- BOC COVID-19 Changes
- Physician order is now available in Epic: SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) by RT-PCR, High Risk
- Use high risk test for patients that meet the screening guidelines
- Can consult pharmacy for change of aerosols to MDI’s if indicated
- Includes new isolation orders if not already present
- New isolation type of Enhanced Respiratory Precautions to be used for COVID positive or COVID suspected patients
- New BPA will fire if COVID-19 test ordered and patient not currently in isolation
- New status in story board for COVID-19 positive or suspected patients
- Banner will also be displayed on the ED track board
- New note template for COVID-19 suspected patients
- New .covid19ptinstr Smartphrase for patient instructions
- New .covid19caregiverinstr Smartphrase for patient caregiver instructions
- Physician order is now available in Epic: SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) by RT-PCR, High Risk
