Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, a 706-bed hospital located on an 80-acre medical campus in Memphis, Tennessee, is the flagship hospital of Baptist Memorial Health Care, one of the largest health care systems in the country. Named as the No. 1 hospital in the Memphis metropolitan area and No. 2 hospital in the state of Tennessee by U.S. News & World Report for 2024-2025, it serves as a major referral center for patients across the Mid-South and has the only certified adult heart transplant and adult extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) programs in the Mid-South. The hospital also offers specialty, diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services. According to HealthGrades, an independent health care ratings organization, Baptist Memphis’ cardiac surgery, stroke, gastrointestinal, pulmonary and critical care programs were among the top 5% in the country in 2009, resulting in the facility receiving Specialty Excellence awards. This 80-acre campus is also home to Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital, Baptist Memorial Restorative Care Hospital, Baptist Heart Institute, Baptist Women’s Health Center and five (5) physicians’ office buildings.
Self Parking is available at no charge in well-lit, security-patrolled garages located on the hospital campus. Handicap parking is available in both the outside lots and on each floor of the parking garages.
Valet Parking is available at the main entrance to the hospital and at the entrance to 6025 Walnut Grove, Medical Plaza 1. This service is available at both locations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. for a nominal fee.
Shuttle Service is complimentary and available at all times for transportation to and from the locations on the hospital campus, including Hampton Inn. For shuttle transportation to your vehicle, dial 6-5520 from any in-house phone located at any hospital entrance. For shuttle transportation from your vehicle to the building, dial 901-226-5520.

Vending machines are located on floors 2 through 4 next to the guest elevators. A large vending area is located on the first floor next to the Willows Café.
An automated teller machine is located in the vending area on the first floor next to the cafeteria.
For your convenience, changing stations are located in the main lobby restrooms.
Counseling services for patients: dietary, financial, health care choices, religious, rehabilitation and lifestyle arrangements.
TDD (Telephone Device for the Deaf) equipment is available at no charge for our hearing-impaired patients. In addition, interpretation services are provided for our hearing-impaired patients upon request. Please contact the nursing staff or Help Line. More on hearing impaired services.
When needed, interpretation services are provided for patients who do not speak English. Please contact your nurse for assistance with obtaining a language interpreter. Learn more on translation services.
A complimentary washer and dryer set is available on the third floor of the hospital. Detergent may be purchased in the retail pharmacy.
The Ann L. and Joseph H. Powell Library for patients and visitors is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and is on the 1st floor of 6025 Walnut Grove, Medical Plaza 1. Services include computer and internet access, faxing, photocopying, as well as health-related resources available for checkout.
Patient mail and packages are delivered to the hospital’s mailroom Monday through Saturday and then delivered to patients the next business day. Mail or packages received after a patient is discharged will be forwarded to the patient’s home address listed on the medical record.
Please consult the local phone directory for notaries public. Hospital staff and volunteers are prohibited from witnessing or notarizing any documents related to a patient’s health care wishes.
The chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital near the main entrance and is always open to provide a quiet place for prayer and meditation.
Sunday service: 10:00 a.m. (Also viewable live on channel 56 in patient rooms.)
Patients and families may request a hospital chaplain visit by dialing “0” for the hospital operator.
Walnut Grove Plaza Pharmacy is located in the lobby of the hospital and available to fill prescriptions or over-the-counter (OTC) medications.

Meds to Beds is a service that provides free delivery of discharge medications to the patient’s room just prior to discharge from the hospital. As you prepare for discharge from the hospital, ask your nurse about getting your prescriptions from the Meds to Bed service. Once at home, future prescriptions can easily be changed to your local pharmacy.
