At Baptist outpatient rehabilitation, we help our patients regain strength and independence through comprehensive rehabilitative care. With therapy programs to address the unique needs of orthopedic injuries, pelvic floor dysfunction, Parkinson’s disease, pediatric patients and more, we are able to provide care for the individual’s health situation.
Our location, adjacent to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, in Oxford, is convenient and accessible and features new, leading-edge equipment and technology.
Comprehensive care, specialized experience
All of our physical therapists have received extensive training in physical therapy, and all of our occupational and speech therapists have earned master’s degrees in their fields. This experience enables the Baptist outpatient rehabilitation team to provide high-quality care for the treatment areas of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Orthopedics
Our therapists are highly experienced and have advanced certifications in orthopedics, manual therapy and therapeutic dry needling. We treat all orthopedic conditions and injuries including but not limited to:
- Achilles tendon reconstruction
- Ankle fracture and ankle sprains
- Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, meniscus repair and other arthroscopic knee surgeries
- Elbow and wrist fractures

Parkinson’s Disease Therapy
Parkinson’s disease is a condition that affects the central nervous system, resulting in movement dysfunction. Common symptoms are slow movements, loss of balance and stiffness. Treatment for Parkinson’s disease is provided by clinicians that have received additional training in Lee Silverman voice treatment (LSVT) BIG® and LOUD®. Baptist offers both LSVT BIG for movement and mobility and LSVT LOUD for speech.
Common symptoms of Parkinson’s disease we treat include:
- Changes in handwriting
- Changes in speech such as a soft or low voice
- Impaired balance
- Increased fatigue and trouble sleeping
- Loss of automatic movements such as blinking or smiling
- Loss of smell
- Mood changes, including depression and anxiety
- Poor posture
- Problems with thinking and memory
- Rigid muscles
- Slowed movements (bradykinesia)
- Tremor
Pediatrics
Baptist outpatient rehabilitation offers pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapy for children from birth to 18 years of age. We provide individualized care plans to promote independence and allow children to participate at home, school and the community.
We help children improve motor development, increase strength and endurance for everyday activities and sports, reach developmental milestones, overcome sensory challenges and improve feeding, swallowing and effective communication. We treat developmental, systemic and traumatic conditions to promote independence, improve self-regulation and ease the challenges of caregiving.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Pelvic floor rehabilitation is the treatment of the muscles and structures in and around the pelvis that are causing dysfunction. Our patients are treated by a licensed doctor of physical therapy with additional training in conditions and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. Pelvic floor rehabilitation can assist with issues related to the bladder, bowel, sexual dysfunction, prenatal and postpartum care and more, including:
- Constipation
- Diastasis recti
- Dysfunction following cesarean delivery
- Fecal incontinence, urgency and frequency
- Hip, low back and tailbone pain
- Interstitial cystitis
- Pelvic floor coordination and re-training
